Vulfas LifÅ¡icas was born on 30 March 1920 in Naujoji Vilnia. His father was HeÅ¡elis/ Geselis (Heszel/ Gessel), and his mother Mochel Mileikowska. From 1930–1932, he went to Epstein’s private gymnasium in Vilnius, and from 1932–1938 to the Adam Mickiewicz Gymnasium in Vilnius. He passed his graduation examinations in the humanities. That same year Vulfas applied to study at the Vilnius Stephen Bathory University but was not admitted. A year later he applied to the same university to study medicine. In 1939, he attended a Lithuanian-language course at the Chamber of Labour and passed the six-form primary level examination in Lithuanian. On 18 September 1940, he appealed to the rector of ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ for permission to continue his studies in the Medical Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, but his application was not granted. But he was accepted at the Faculty of Economics. On 19 September 1941, Vulfas LifÅ¡icas was expelled from the Faculty of Economics of ÃÛ¶¹ÊÓƵ on the basis of the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Higher Education Department of the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the Nazis and enforced their policies. His further fate is unknown.
