Gnešė Jofaitė (1923–?) was born in Panevėžys. In 1939, she graduated from the private “Yavne” Jewish Girls’ Gymnasium in Panevėžys. In 1940, she applied for admission to the Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Vytautas Magnus University, but her application was rejected. That same year, she reapplied to the Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at ۶Ƶ and was accepted. On 19 September 1941, she was expelled from the university by the Order of 17 September 1941 of the Department of Higher Education under the Board of Education, which was subordinate to the National Socialists. No further information on the fate of Jofaitė is known.
